Sears–Davies gets hands-on at Print Club London

At Sears–Davies, we’re no strangers to creativity - it’s what fuels everything we do. In December, the team took a step away from our screens to get our hands dirty (literally) with screens of a different kind at Print Club London screen-printing workshop. Let’s say it was a day of ink-stained fingers and unexpected masterpieces!

The day began with a warm welcome and introduction from the workshop hosts, who gave us a crash course on the basics of screen printing. From taking our designs, creating the artwork, and preparing the screens to choosing just the right ink colour, we dove headfirst into the world of hands-on, old-school print. Armed with squeegees and screens, we were ready to unleash our inner artists.

As a team used to creating memorable brands, pixel-perfect websites, and polished print materials, it was refreshing to swap our usual tools for something a bit messier. There’s something wonderfully therapeutic about dragging a squeegee across a screen and seeing your design come to life on paper!

Of course, no team outing would be complete without a bit of friendly competition. Who could create the most eye-catching design? Who would end up covered in the most ink? Some of us discovered a hidden talent for screen printing, while others... abstract art was their calling.

The workshop wasn’t just about creating cool prints. It was a chance to connect as a team in a different environment. We strengthened the collaborative spirit that makes working at Sears–Davies rewarding.

By the end of the day, we left with more than just our printed masterpieces - we carried a renewed sense of inspiration. The hands-on experience reminded us of the importance of stepping away from the usual grind to explore new perspectives.

Who knows? Screen printing may become the next big thing in the Sears Davies creative arsenal!
