As market leaders, MCMS sought an updated, more mature image without losing the essence of what made them successful— an evolution, not a revolution.

The Challenge
With a strong brand identity already in place, the challenge was to refine MCMS's visual identity and create a modern, cohesive brand that better aligned with its professional audiences. MCMS aimed to appeal to industry leaders while maintaining its position as an approachable yet authoritative entity. They wanted their new identity to reflect their maturity, expertise, and leading-edge position within their sector while remaining recognisable to their long-standing clients.

The Process
We began the project with a comprehensive discovery session, during which we conducted an in-depth analysis of the existing MCMS brand and its messaging. Understanding their market and the nuances of their established identity allowed us to develop a strategy that modernised their brand while retaining the core elements that made it familiar to their clients.

Working closely with the MCMS team, Sears–Davies developed stylescapes to guide the visual evolution of the brand. These large boards presented different design concepts, colour schemes, and typography choices in a way that allowed MCMS to visualise the potential directions easily. This collaborative approach fostered an open dialogue, ensuring that the refreshed identity accurately conveyed their values of professionalism, trust, and innovation.

The Outcome
The resulting brand refresh featured a refined colour palette and a more mature visual language, allowing MCMS to stand out in their industry while staying true to their roots. The new logo and brand assets represented a sleeker, more contemporary look aligned with their global reputation.

The brand refresh, fully integrated into the new website, brought their visual identity to life and reflected the industries they serve. The website's design incorporated bold, abstract imagery from the construction, engineering, and energy sectors, ensuring it resonated with their audience. The user experience was streamlined for easy navigation, enhancing engagement with current and potential clients.

By evolving its brand rather than overhauling it, we ensured MCMS retained its industry authority while confidently stepping into the future.
